On Losing Those Last Ten Pounds

Every January, we make resolutions to get healthier. Well, January has come and gone. How are we doing with those resolutions, folks? While looking back at the goals I set in 2014, I was surprised to find that while I was still active last year, I did not cover nearly as ground than the year the before. I finally tried spinning classes (and loved them), so that accounts for some of it, but according to my Map My Run data, I completed about 30 workouts less. It was kind of disappointing to see those numbers go down, but I have still managed ... Read More »

How to Fight for Your Fit

Over the past two years I’ve received messages from readers asking, “How did you lose the weight?” I shared the start of my weight-loss journey with you, but since weight loss hasn’t been a focus on the blog, I haven’t formally checked in much along the way. Five Things Friday: 5.23.14

Setting up shop right next to the 9th street light rail station seems an ingenious move to cater to commuters. Read More »

2014: The Year of Intention

As I was reading through other blogger’s posts and their new year’s resolutions, I saw a lot on this idea of choosing a “theme word” for the year. At first I thought that might be a bit much and didn’t think I had one, but as I sat down to solidify my goals for this year, the word intentional kept popping up. I want to be more intentional with my life, living more aware and with more purpose, in every single facet. Too often I find my NYC whirl-wind paced life distracts me and my days, weeks, and months begin ... Read More »

A Summer Well Spent

I don’t know about you, but summer has always been my favorite time of year. That probably comes from having some of the best childhood experiences ever during the summer. I always spent weeks at camp, visited amusement parks, went to all-nighters, took mission trips, and had countless sleepovers with friends. When you’ve had such incredible childhood summers, it’s hard to come to grips with summer as an adult. As this summer started, I found myself worn out from the daily grind of life. I tend to be so busy during the week that often I struggle to let loose ... Read More »
