Learning to Love My Broken Body

Learning to Love My Broken Body

I had been putting it off for months. At the beginning of the year, I resolved that in 2015, I would give yoga a try. To deal with the challenges of infertility, I had begun to do what any investigator at heart does: I researched. Running had been my main exercise of choice over the past few years, but running by itself no longer felt right, or like it was enough. Add to that the arguments I read about how running raises your cortisol levels to “fight or flight” mode, signaling to your body that you are in danger, and ... Read More »

What I’m Into (September 2015 Edition)

What I’m Into (September 2015 Edition)

How is tomorrow October already?! Friends, it has been quite a long time since our last Five Things Friday installment… so I thought I’d catch you up with a bigger edition of the things I’m loving by hopping on the “What I’m Into” bandwagon with other bloggers like Ms. Leah Kramer. I am so grateful for the many years we got to spend together, and will miss him dearly. We celebrated his life together with our extended Simmons family on August 22nd. Two days after I ... Praying Through Pain (Hoboken Grace Guest Post)

Praying Through Pain (Hoboken Grace Guest Post)

I am guest posting over at the Hoboken Grace Blog this week about how to pray in the midst of pain. We’re currently in a series called “In the Meantime: What do you do when there’s nothing you can do?” which, in (too) many ways, perfectly describes my life right now. I am sure many of you can relate to the idea of figuring out how to make it through a waiting season. If you are a person who prays, I hope this encourages you! Sometimes I find it hard to trust God. I have experienced His love and grace in such ... Read More »
